Building on the 2007 Irish Pub Festival success, Gilligan has decided utilise the Oude Maria Kerk once again as centre point & information centre. He has recently negotiated a partnership deal with the Irish Brewery Murphy’s into visualising this cultural house. As Gilligan says “ I got the idea from football, when the Dutch play away they always have a centre point in the form of Heineken House, so lets have Murphy’s house at my festival”. He found that perfect location at de Oude Maria Kerk. Transforming this magnificent building into an information centre equipped with stands from Toerisme Ierland, The Claddagh, Irish club Nederland, Jameson Irish Whiskey, and Gael Force Cds. He also has for the first time a genuine Irish Bar installed together with simple Irish food like Murphy’s Irish Stew & Irish sausage broodjes as well as Murphy’s red & stout on tap. He will be performing here himself together with Danny Guinan & Erik van Loo. There will also be audio visual display of Irish culture. Murphy’s House will be opened for the public from 20.00 till 0.30.
On Saturday 2nd Feb “Murphy’s Big Irish Party” takes place at de Oude Maria Kerk. With live music from 15.00hrs till midnight. Live on stage is The John O’Gods, Ken Parsons, Paul Martin & Jock the Box plus hopefully a mightly typical Irish traditional music session with most of the left over musicians from the night before. Yes the Irish just love an excuse to party. The will be a small cover charge of € 5,-.
So come on down and experience genuine Irish food & genuine Irish beer in an atmosphere of superb quality entertainers.
